🍎✨ Apple Day was SO much fun! ✨🍎 Raegan from WVU 4-H joined us for a mini lesson about our state apple, the Golden Delicious, and our little scientists used their senses to make predictions and conduct experiments like sink or float, apple volcanoes, and counting seeds! We also practiced math by measuring, comparing, weighing, graphing our apple taste tests, and even measuring ourselves in apples! 🍏📊 They didn’t even realize they were learning because they were having SO much fun! ❤️ I love when learning sticks because it’s exciting and hands-on! Now we can’t wait for Pumpkin Day! 🎃

🔴 PARENTS & GUARDIANS — PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO CHECK YOUR CHILD 🏫 As we prepare to welcome students back to school, we are asking every parent and guardian to take a few minutes before sending your child to school to check them for any unusual sores, irritated areas, rashes, or other signs of a possible skin infection. ❗When in doubt, please have your child checked before sending them to school. 👩‍⚕️ If you have questions or concerns about your child returning to school, please contact the school nurse at your child's school. Our school nurses are available to help answer questions and provide guidance to our families. 🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE — WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS Wyoming County Schools would like to provide families and staff with the latest information regarding school operations. The following three schools will remain CLOSED through Friday: • Mullens Elementary & Middle School • Wyoming East High School • Westside High School ServPro is continuing the cleaning and sanitation process at these three schools. Wyoming County Schools will also continue communicating closely with the Wyoming County Health Department as we move forward. ALL OTHER WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL RETURN TO SCHOOL TOMORROW. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Extracurricular activities may also resume tomorrow for schools returning to regular operations, provided those activities are not being held at Wyoming East High School or Westside High School. All extracurricular activities involving or taking place at Wyoming East High School and Westside High School remain suspended at this time. LOOKING AHEAD TO MONDAY Our goal is for all Wyoming County Schools to resume normal operations on Monday. This will be contingent upon receiving satisfactory air quality assessments, completion of ServPro’s cleaning and sanitation process, and clearance from the Wyoming County Health Department. Once those measures have been completed and the appropriate clearance has been received, all schools and extracurricular activities will resume normal operations on Monday. We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our students, staff, families, and community. We know these changes can be disruptive, but the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. 🚌 Our team is hard at work today! As part of our countywide cleaning efforts, our bus drivers are taking extra time to thoroughly clean and disinfect our school buses. We are incredibly thankful for our transportation staff and everyone across Wyoming County Schools who is stepping up and doing their part to help provide a clean and safe environment for our students and staff. IMPORTANT UPDATE — WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS Due to new information received regarding the current skin-related health concern, Wyoming County Schools will be taking additional precautionary measures. ALL WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW, OCTOBER 6. This countywide closure will allow for a thorough deep cleaning of our school facilities as an added precaution to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff. WYOMING EAST & WESTSIDE: Wyoming East High School and Westside High School will remain closed beyond tomorrow until further guidance is received from the Wyoming County Health Department and all necessary cleaning by ServPro has been completed. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: There will be no extracurricular activities anywhere in Wyoming County Schools today, October 5, or tomorrow, October 6. This includes practices, games, and other school-related extracurricular events. The situation will be reevaluated following tomorrow, and additional guidance will be provided regarding when activities may resume. For Wyoming East High School and Westside High School, all extracurricular activities will remain suspended until further notice. HEALTH INFORMATION: At this time, Wyoming County Schools has not received an official diagnosis identifying the specific type of skin infection involved. We understand there may be speculation within the community, but we want to be careful to share only information that has been confirmed by the appropriate health officials. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. October School Calendar

It’s Homecoming Week! Wyoming East and its feeder schools will release three hours early on Thursday, October 1, so our students, staff, and families can join in the WEHS Homecoming Parade festivities! We look forward to coming together and celebrating our Warriors! Go Warriors!

Glen Fork students had the first of our Reading Riddler special visitors today to kick off our year full of Reading adventures! Students are given clues leading up to the day of our surprise guest visits. Our goal is to help students find joy in reading through the visits. A special thank you to Olivia Hylton, Holly Brehm, Sadie Branham and Lyndsey Branham for stopping by to read some of our favorite books. They were even able to share some of the books that were gifted to them through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Friday, September 4, 2026 Wyoming East Middle School GlenFork Elementary and Middle School Bus 212, Jewell will not be running this evening. Bus 240 will be bringing those students home. Bus may be 15-20 minutes late.

A busy day in 4th grade… • During math class they faced off with friends with a roll and round board game. Students needed to use place value to round numbers up to the millions place. • Math support split into teams and practiced our multiplication facts with a multiplication wheel relay race. • In Social Studies, they learned about the 7 continents and 5 oceans. Students used the globe to identify each and complete their world map, finished in color!

3rd Graders are working hard already! Today they were building place-value skills one digit at a time using vertical white boards! We love seeing teamwork in action!

3-5 Cheer Tryouts will be held on September 1st from 4:00 to 5:15. Students must have a current physical to tryout.

Basketball tryout will be starting next week. All 3-5 students who want to tryout must have a physical that is dated after May 1st. We are excited to get this year started!!
